In the spirit of Blackwell's chapter on "retrofitted memory", I am posting these images for us to think about and discuss in class.

  1. It is so funny the memories I now have of some of those posters are entirely related to their backstory. Did you tell your students we power scanned/documented those San Diego posters? It was our last night in SD, the sun was at just the right angle on Rita's front porch and there was enough room to lay a utility blanket on the porch and snap those shots. Point of the story, sometimes you have to wing the process, but you have to get the documentation! This small selection of photographs really does tell the story of the Chicano Movement in San Diego.
